In 2010, Concrete Temple Theatre, one of New York City premiere visual theatre companies, received permissions from well-known young adult fiction author James Preller to create a stage adaptation of his celebrated anti-bullying novel BYSTANDER.
The book tells the story of Eric, who’s forced to move to Long Island after his father abandons his family. Life as a 13 year old new kid is hard, but for Eric it becomes increasingly challenging after he witnesses bullying at his school. He wants to fit in and make friends, but will Eric stay silent about what he’s seen? Will he have the courage to do what’s right?
