David Pinkard
David Pinkard has worked as composer, sound designer and musical director in and around New York City since 1995. Most recently he conducted the premiere of Anthony Gatto’s opera The Making of Americans at the Walker Art Center. Other recent credits include The Whale: A One-Man Moby Dick (Concrete Temple), Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead and Travesties (Williams Theatre), La Magnani (Quattro Sorelle), Planet Samovar (NY Fringe), The Acrobat (Edinburgh Fringe), She Who Burns (Concrete Temple), Spring Storm (LOBO Theatre), Johannes Wieland’s Filtrate (Harkness Dance Project, Duke Theatre), Angels in America: Millennium Approaches (Williams Theatre), Shoplifting Oxygen (New World Theatre).
David also served for three years as the resident sound designer for the Actors Studio Drama School Repertory Season. A native of Austin, Texas, he holds degrees in music performance from the University of Texas and Yale University, and studied orchestral conducting with Louis Lane and Charles Bruck.
